At Teddy Kids, we’re flexible! We want to create a childcare schedule that works for your family. If your child needs to miss a day, let us know as soon as possible.

What is a contract day?

Contract days are the days of the week that your child regularly attends, which is agreed upon once your contract starts.

For example, you may request a contract for just one day a week, such as Mondays. Mondays are considered your contract days and therefore every Monday of the month is considered booked for your child. This means that a voucher cannot be applied to a future Monday, since that day of the week is already a regularly booked contract day for your child.

If your child will miss a Monday, then the responsibility lies with the parent to indicate that missed day in Zaycare as soon as possible.

What is a missed day?

A missed day is a day that your child does not attend a regularly booked contract day, for whatever reason, including illness, vacation, personal circumstances, etc.

Who makes changes to my schedule?

You do! Parents can and should make your own schedule changes using your Zaycare account, including marking a missed day as such.

How and when do I inform Teddy Kids my child will miss a day?

Parents must mark missed days in the Zaycare system. Just click on the day that will be missed, then choose “Not Coming” at the bottom of the calendar.

Mark days as missed days at least 1 workday in advance (24 hours from 07:00, excluding weekends), whenever possible. Marking a regular contracted Monday as a missed day therefore requires you to mark it as “Not Coming” before 07:00 of the Friday of the previous week.

Can the teacher just make the change for me?

We ask that parents be responsible for changes to your schedule in Zaycare as soon as possible. The children in the group are the first priority for the teachers.

What happens after I confirm that my child is not coming?

After confirming a “Not Coming/Vacation/Sick” day in Zaycare, this day becomes available to other parents and a voucher may be added to your account (provided the cancellation was done in time). This means that you forfeit your right to use that regular contract day.

If a mistake has been made please let us know as soon as possible so we can reset the information.

Can I re-use a missed day?

Yes! If your child misses a day, then you may re-use a missed day within 30 days of the missed day, provided there is space available and that the schedule change was requested in Zaycare at least 1 workday in advance (24 hours from 07:00, excluding weekends).

However, missed days cannot be financially compensated nor exchanged with already booked contract days. For example, if Monday is a contract day, then a voucher may not be used for a future Monday; if Tuesday is a contract day, then a voucher may not be used for a future Tuesday, and so on.

What happens to the value of a missed day that I mark in Zaycare in advance?

Changes made in time
Provided that that the schedule change was requested in Zaycare in time, then you receive a voucher worth 100% of the value of the missed day. That’s reserved hours X hourly rate. This voucher may be used towards an extra day within 30 days of the missed day, and only after the date of the missed day.

Changes made late
If Teddy Kids is notified of a schedule change in less than 24 hours from 7:00 of the booked contract day, then no voucher will be awarded.

Changes due to illness
If your child misses a day at Teddy Kids due to illness, you receive a voucher of 25% for that day, provided we were notified more than 24 hours in advance. This voucher may be used towards an extra day within 30 days of the missed day, and only after the date of the missed day.

What happens to the value of a missed day due to illness?

If your child misses a day at Teddy Kids due to illness, you receive a voucher of 25% for that day. This voucher may be used towards an extra day within 30 days of the missed day.

How do I take advantage of vouchers if my child has a contract for 5 days a week?

If your child attends childcare full time, then extra days are unfortunately not available for you. However, the number 1 benefit of a full-time contract is that your child’s space is guaranteed for every day we are open. We have room for your child whenever you need it!

Keep in mind too that even families with part-time contracts are not always able to make use of vouchers to book extra days. Vouchers are considered a bonus, which may or may not end up being applied for future use.

Finally, don’t forget to take advantage of the Dutch government subsidy, which may provide significant benefits to your family. If both parents work or study in the Netherlands, then 99% of the time you are eligible for childcare subsidies. What other rules apply to missed days, extra days or vouchers?

  • The responsibility to inform Teddy Kids of missed days lies solely with the parent; we do not take responsibility for information being updated late.
  • Missed days cannot be financially compensated nor exchanged with already booked contract days. For example, if Monday is a contract day, then a voucher may not be used for a future Monday; if Tuesday is a contract day, then a voucher may not be used for a future Tuesday, and so on.
  • Contracted flexible days, half days (07:30-13:00 // 13:00-18:30), or any other type of days cannot be extended with vouchers nor will vouchers be awarded for shortened contract days.
  • Days booked "Extra" are final and will not be awarded vouchers.
  • Extra days are always based on our standard times and standard pricing.
  • 100% of the value of a cancelled contract day is reserved for future use only if the schedule change was requested in Zaycare at least 1 workday in advance (24 hours from 07:00, excluding weekends).
  • Vouchers from cancelled contract days are valid for 30 days after the cancelled contract day.
  • Vouchers from cancelled contract days becomes applicable from the date of the cancelled contract day, not before. For example, if you cancel October 15th, then you may only apply a voucher for October 16th or later. This is true even if you cancelled the October 15th contract day one day or one week or one month in advance.
  • Booking extra days is only possible provided there is space available.
  • Vouchers for extra days is only awarded provided that the schedule change was requested at least 1 workday in advance (24 hours from 07:00, excluding weekends).
  • Booking extra days is only possible provided there are no outstanding invoices.
  • There is no extra charge from Teddy Kids to book extra days.
  • If you change more than 25% of your fixed schedule in a particular month, we reserve the right to switch you to our flex tariff; be advised this may lead to higher costs.

Note- If you have more than a month outstanding in dues, the right to book extra days or use vouchers is suspended.
